The All-In-One LT datasheet lists parallel power and communication interfaces, but the maximum number of linked units should be confirmed with Bettenergy before installation. The ELESHELL table lists 15 units in parallel, while the brochure graphic refers to 16 units.

Savings example

Save with batteries first. Add solar for extra savings.

A home battery can reduce electricity costs even without solar panels. The simple idea is to charge the battery overnight on a cheap-rate tariff, then use that stored energy during the day when grid electricity is more expensive.

Battery first 01

Save without solar panels

A home battery can work on its own. Charge it overnight when electricity is cheaper, then use that stored energy during the day when grid electricity costs more.

No solar required Ideal for homes on cheap overnight tariffs such as Octopus Go.

Why this works

  • Simple battery-led installation
  • Works for homes without suitable roof space
  • Strong fit for EV tariff customers
  • Clear mass-market saving opportunity
Solar uplift 02

Add solar for additional savings

Solar can increase the saving further. Instead of buying all the battery energy overnight, the system can store free solar generated during the day.

Extra saving on top Solar reduces the amount of grid energy needed to charge the battery.

Additional benefit

  • Stores more of your own solar energy
  • Reduces overnight grid charging
  • Can increase total annual savings
  • EnergiFlux helps decide when to leave battery space
Choose the right battery route

Battery-only means no solar required — but the hardware route matters.

A battery system can operate without solar panels. The choice is whether you use an All-In-One unit with the inverter built in, or a standalone battery that needs a separate compatible hybrid inverter and installation.

Battery-only saving

No solar panels required

The saving comes from charging the battery overnight on a cheap-rate tariff and using that stored energy during the day when grid electricity costs more.

  • Works without solar panels
  • Ideal for cheap overnight tariffs
  • Good fit for EV tariff customers
All-In-One LT

No separate inverter required

The All-In-One LT includes both the battery and hybrid inverter within one integrated unit.

Included Battery + hybrid inverter
Best for a new battery installation where a complete integrated system is preferred.
Standalone battery route

Separate inverter required

Standalone battery options such as ELESHELL / PowerCube require a compatible hybrid inverter and professional installation.

Generic hybrid inverter
3.6kW hybrid inverter package from £2,995 Indicative allowance for compatible inverter and standard installation.
5kW hybrid inverter package from £3,250 Indicative allowance for compatible inverter and standard installation.
Final pricing depends on inverter size, installation requirements, cable runs, protection equipment, commissioning and site survey.

Example assumptions used below

Day rate33.3p/kWh
Cheap overnight rate9.5p/kWh
Battery efficiency allowance90%
Effective stored overnight cost10.6p/kWh
Battery-only saving per kWh22.7p/kWh

1. Battery-only savings

This shows the saving from charging a home battery overnight and using that energy during the day instead of buying electricity at the day rate.

Daily energy shifted through battery Daily saving Annual saving Customer message
10kWh/day £2.27/day £830/year Good entry-level saving
15kWh/day £3.41/day £1,245/year Strong family-home case
20kWh/day £4.55/day £1,660/year High-usage home / EV tariff case
25kWh/day £5.68/day £2,075/year Larger home saving case
30kWh/day £6.82/day £2,490/year Large home / high demand case

Battery-only saving is calculated as the day rate avoided minus the effective cost of charging the battery overnight, after allowing for battery efficiency.

2. Additional solar uplift

Solar is shown as an additional uplift on top of the battery-only saving. If solar generates energy that would otherwise have been bought overnight to charge the battery, the extra uplift is based on avoiding that effective overnight stored cost.

Extra solar energy used instead of overnight charging Additional daily saving Additional annual saving What this means
5kWh/day £0.53/day £193/year Small solar uplift
10kWh/day £1.06/day £387/year Typical useful uplift
15kWh/day £1.59/day £580/year Strong solar contribution
20kWh/day £2.12/day £774/year Larger array / high usage case

This is the additional solar uplift where solar replaces energy that would otherwise have been bought overnight. If solar also prevents day-rate grid import, the value can be higher.

3. Combined battery + solar examples

The total saving is the battery-only saving plus the additional solar uplift.

Example household Battery-only saving Additional solar uplift Combined annual saving
10kWh/day battery use + 5kWh/day solar uplift £830/year £193/year £1,023/year
15kWh/day battery use + 10kWh/day solar uplift £1,245/year £387/year £1,632/year
20kWh/day battery use + 15kWh/day solar uplift £1,660/year £580/year £2,240/year
30kWh/day battery use + 20kWh/day solar uplift £2,490/year £774/year £3,264/year

These examples are illustrative and show energy savings only. Actual savings and payback depend on tariff, household usage, battery size, inverter limits, solar generation, export rate, battery settings, installation requirements and final installed system cost.

Where EnergiFlux adds intelligence

EnergiFlux decides when to charge and when to leave space for solar.

Battery-only homes mainly benefit from simple cheap-rate charging. Homes with solar benefit from smarter daily decisions — charging more before poor solar days, or leaving capacity available when tomorrow’s solar forecast is strong.

Battery-onlyCharge cheap overnight

EnergiFluxOptimise the decision daily

The EnergiFlux Difference

Traditional Batteries

  • Charge to 100% every night
  • Waste excess solar
  • Higher peak imports
  • Shorter battery life
  • Not weather-aware
VS

EnergiFlux Smart Charging

  • Charges only what you need
  • Stores more solar
  • Reduces peak imports
  • Extends battery life
  • Uses forecasts & learning

Today's Example

32.9kWh Solar
29.1kWh Consumed
7.0kWh Exported
3.2kWh Imported

EnergiFlux would recommend only 30% charge overnight.
Traditional systems would charge to 80–100%.

Potential saving: 5–12kWh of unnecessary charging
